What We Do
Making Music offers a wide range of artistic and administrative services. In addition to these national services, in the East Midlands, we offer a variety of benefits for voluntary music groups. These include:
A regional e-bulletin
This bi-monthly newsletter contains a variety of useful news snippets including information about resources, funding, music making opportunities and general music news. Make sure you sign up to join our mailing list .
One-to-one advice
We provide advice and support to music groups across a huge range of music related topics. With years of experience and access to a wealth of resources we respond to requests by email, phone or in person. Do get in touch if you have a query that we could help you with.
Visiting
It's vital that we understand the current needs of music groups in our region and in order to do this we have a visiting programme. Frequently groups get in touch and invite a representative of Making Music to attend a rehearsal, committee meeting or open day.
Training
Past courses include 'How to fundraise for your music project', 'Sponsorship for music groups'. Courses for 2010 include 'Audience Development' and a session about performing rights. Click here to view a full list of events being run across the UK.
Music Making
We all love music and an opportunity to come together and make tuneful noise. Plans for 2010 include a Big Drumming Day and a Come Sing. Past events include a Come Sing with the Halle orchestra and a Vocal Training day led by Nigel Perrin.
